While not quite 230 lbs, I have always depended on being able to perform
"remote course corrections" by moving about the boat. As you move, the boat
heels and the rudder angle changes. The magnitude of the effect may be
changed by adjusting the rudder blade depth. Why fight it by constantly
adjusting the tiller? Consider it a "feature" of the R22 and set the tiller
appropriately before moving about.

Occasionally, the subject of tiller tamers comes up. I like the idea, and I
have the tiller-extension-into-starboard-slot version of a tiller
controller, but I have found that after it's set, once my 230-lb body starts
wandering around the boat, the shift in weight throws off the tiller
setting, so I have to keep going back to reset it. Is that everybody's
experience, or is there a technique or gadget to overcome it?
