We have also raised and lowered the mast quite a few times with the
boat in the water. As Graham says it's easier than going up and down
a ladder and if you have a good dock to be tied alongside it's easier
still - there is however, a greater chance of dropping parts
overboard. We have the GB crane and crutch mast raising system and
raise the mast from it's resting spot at the stern.
