Hi Brooks....I am looking at a very similar configuration for my 1984 R22.
I am keen on racing so I will go for a soft-hanked 130% genoa and a Code
Zero (similar to the UPS) for off-wind sailing. I am experimenting with a
removable sprit that will extend the Code Zero tack about 1ft in front of
the stemhead.
I will let you know how it goes.
