[Rhodes22-list] How bad is my CB plate?

Wow!

Thanks all for many great ideas. 

I'm going to let it all simmer in my brain for a while. 

Some of your ideas require daunting amounts of work - and I'm daunted. 

My first thought is still to do a minimal amount of work, launch it and look
for leaks. Boat launch is just 1 mile.  As I said, I do have a great track
record - not bragging, it's a fact, so I do have to trust my own judgement.
Yeah, there's always a first time.

The cap is still very strong - not like it's significantly weakened.

If my minimal work does the trick, I'll tell you what I did. If it doesn't
work, I'll tell you what I did.

But I won't tell you before I launch and test :-)

Again, thanks for all the great ideas. If I see water after launch, i'm all
set for better remedies.
