Request from General Boats:

We note that most of the charged-up members of this list have Rhodes we 
did not build.  Others have older Rhodes that have been owned by others 
who had made poorly executed alterations.  We suggest that, for 
everyone's ultimate benefit, those owners do not attribute their 
negatives to the real Rhodes we know and love.  Anyone who has seen, 
sailed or owned a 100% in-house plant built Rhodes appreciates that none 
of the negative issues raised in the List e-mails are applicable to a 
new or latter recycled Rhodes sold with a new boat guarantee.

When Cruising World asked its readers for comments we saw one of the 
responses: "Yeah, the boat is everything the guy said it was - but I got 
a flat on the trailer."  Dan Spurr, who will be writing this upcoming 
piece, was involved in the wonderful Practical Sailor review years ago 
that blew us out of the water. One exception was a section we felt 
misleading in that it quoted a few negatives from owners who had old 
Rhodes not built by General Boats.

For any responding to the Good Old Boats call, thanks for staying with 
the facts.
