[Rhodes22-list] centerboard cap

This is the way our 86 looked when we got it a few months ago. As part of
our "refresh," we removed the cap and replaced the keel cord and the blocks.
When we reinstalled the cap, we used bolts with washers instead of the
original screws. Nothing leaked.

Graham,
Attached is a photo of an 88 model cap. Hope this helps.

Can anyone tell me the width of the flange at the base of the centerboard
housing cap? Mine is 5" but the flange on the housing is closer to 7" and I
now am wondering if the cap has been altered. Also I would be interested to
know how many bolts were used to attach the cap. Mine has thirty 1/4" bolts
spaced about every 3" apart.
Thanks,
Graham

Today I installed the port side acrylic window strip. The first side took 8
months when you include the research, obtain materials, testing and hand
wringing. The second one took an hour and went on easier than the first.
Hopefully it won't fall off.
It would have been faster to do the second one first.

I can't remember who wanted to see the windows from the inside but here is
a picture. Looks pretty rough unframed but you can see the view through the
tinted acrylic. As you can see, the openings are a fair bit larger
(approximately 7 x 14") than the original holes.
