I've found that pvc shroud covers help a little, but you will still have some
issues with the 175 trying to get across everything. I just used a razor
knife to cut my pvc covers down the side and then push them over the stays.
But removing the bottom pin of the stay by taking the O-ring off is not
difficult either. Some days I have used my reefing line to pull the 175 in a
bit to get it across the bow in light winds.
