Thank you all for the helpful replies. I intend to caulk for the rest of the 2015 sailing season.

While standing on my head in the lazarette I noticed the lack of fiberglass? Same port side where leak was found. The lack of fiberglass is at the top, port side of forward, lazarette wall. Starboard side bulkhead is fully covered in fiberglass?

Bob,
I have found the brushes sold for cleaning the lint from clothes dryers ( long slender cone shaped) work great to keep the cockpit drains clean. I keep one on the boat.
Cheap and easy!
Just my thought. I hate re inventing the wheel.
