Shawn,

If you have a water tank, I suspect your lightweight motor is causing a
problem sailing single handed.  .With the usual gasoline motor, a full
water tank and an empty holding tank will give a neutral helm at all tacks
single handed.

I suspect you will do best with a half full water tank.
