Mary Lou:
Thanks!  I will hunt for those pics.  In the meantime. what am I looking for in this examination?  What is the problem? What do I need to do to fix the problem: special tools or parts?  Is this just a matter of  reattaching a naughty part?   Here's one important question: Does the mast hoist lower the mast as far as the aft rail?  I've always used the crutch, and mine now has a broken wing.  It'll do in a pinch (this may be the "pinch") I'd just as soon do the repairs at deck height.  Thanks for the help.
Joe

Joe and Susan.
We won't be around next week but at some point I
think I posted lots of pictures of when we took
out the furling tube to replace our main. Let me
know if you can't find them in the archives and I'll send them to you directly.
