[Rhodes22-list] Lowering motor on electric lift if battery dies?

I will look for pictures, and if I can't find them, I can take photos next time I am out to my boat--which due to travel may not be until the weekend after this coming on. The pulley block and tackle mechanism came with my 2011 Rhodes 22 (that replaced my 2011 R22). It hooked over the white lift mechanism, and there was a hook that attached to the lower part of the lift. I think my motor was already in its lowest position, so that when I pulled on the pulley line, the motor lifted and the motor mechanism straps slackened. I don't know if there was a way that I could have detached the straps if the reverse situation had occurred--where the batteries or electric motor failed with the motor all the way up and I wanted to lower it. That may have been the original question.
