Well looks like I have entered electronics zone. I lay aside my Commodore
computer, my floppy discs and brick phone and take the plunge. Kidding
aside I am excited to be doing this. I'll spend a week but no more getting
the boat ready and leave around the 20th of June or a bit sooner. We will
try and meet up with the NW rally for a week and extend it for a week or
two then fly back for my son's wedding, then back to Canada and Desolation
Sound. That should give me time to practice and get comfortable with the
electronic navigation. It is all line of sight (when there is no fog) and
lots of navigation aids and landmarks so I can constantly monitor my
conclusions and suppositions with traditional triangulation and basic GPS.
By the time we head down to Mexico Alice and I should be pretty fluent in
iPad navigation. By the time we cross over to the Bahamas in the spring
next year I think any bugs and glitches will all be worked out and Alice
and I can sit back and enjoy the technology. I'll be back on when I need
some advice and won't be shy about asking. Thanks again everyone.
