[Rhodes22-list] Jib sheets hang-up

IMHO the problem is the 175 deck sweeping Genoa. Using the tubes and taping helps. If you tie on the job sheets as opposed to using a heavy clip helps. But the problem is that in light air, the fully deployed genny lines tend to catch as the heavy material sweeps across the deck. If you are on a long cruise with occasional tacks, one can walk the genny across. But if you are tacking up a narrow harbor, one must furl it in.

The 130 jib has a higher cut and much less weight so it can be easier to use in quick tacking situations. The trade off is less power on long broad reaches....

Anyone want a slightly used 175?

Cheers,

Joe
