A little light amusement for you wiser heads. For reasons I won't go into
(too embarrassing) when I pulled my Rhodes the other day, I discovered she
was sitting on the bunks a foot back on the trailer. Once out of the water
there was no way to winch her forward with the trailer winch. I called a
wise friend for advice, and he suggested squeezing dish soap between the
bunks and the hull to reduce the friction and make them slippery. One bottle
of dish soap later, I wedged the trailer tires, attached a cable from the
bow ring to the hitch on my 4 wd station wagon and on the third pull ­
voilà!! Jerked the boat snug up to the wedge on the trailer. Hallelujah. O
my aching learning curveŠ
