I have a different experience, I keep my Rhodes 22 parked on the trailer at
a marina.  It lets me raise/lower mast once a season.  I'm also able to
single-handed launch in 10 minutes, and there is no worries about moorings,
slips, or cleaning the hull.  Parking the boat and trailer at my marina is
also cheaper than a slip.

I also wouldn't be able to sail nearly as frequently if I had to step the
mast on each trip, but I will go for a two hour trip, whereas your looking
for multiday trips.
