The nice thing that Facebook has done recently with privacy is allowed you to make your profile completely invisible to anyone and everyone that you don't want seeing it.
The annoying thing about Facebook recently is the number of ads that they put in your news feed that look like pasta from someone. But for a free platform, it really works pretty good. 
On another note,  I have a few servers that are sitting,  doing nothing.  My only issue is that I am ten projects deep right now,  and not sure I can get a Linux server up and running in time.
