I’ve never been happy with the original motor mount on my ’84 Continental.
A pic is attached.
Stan told me recently that GB is developing a new style motor mount/lift that should be ready soon.
He hinted that it is completely different design.
When my dad owned the boat, my in-laws kept their Catalina 22 at the same dock. I always liked their spring loaded Garelick mount better than the block & tackle GB idea.
I have seen big improvements on the GB version over the years but have no first hand experience.
I’ve seen and heard the electric version operate, and don’t like it.
I prefer a low tech manual operation.
Garelick makes one with a 15” travel, so its on the radar, and/but I’m waiting for Stan to announce the new design.
For this season I’m stuck with what I have.
it does work.
