Richard seems to be having some trouble posting the photo and he sent it to me directly. I'm posting on his behalf. This looks like an earlier version. I'm not sure how he raises it. Guess a grab and yank technique.
There have been various motor mount styles over the years. The one like Richards at some point was replace by a pulley system that used several pulleys and a pull rope to achieve a 7 to 1 advantage. A big improvement over the grab and yank technique. The newest mount uses electrically operated winch with the winch being mounted in the laz and the winch strap running through the stern and over the mount to the mounting plate. A simple push on the switch raises or lowers the engine. That's what is on my 1998 and I love it! It's decadent to push a button and have the motor raise and lower. - Rob
