I installed a transducer in the Lazaret that does not require cutting a hole in the boat. Works fine. It connects direct to my Garmin fish finder. Why cut any more holes in the boat than you need to?

No, the Rhodes hull is solid fiberglass, there is no core. There’s a lot of variation between one Rhodes 22 and the next, but I’m pretty confident that this is universal.
I drilled a 2” hole in my hull just yesterday to install the thru-hull fitting for a depth/speed/temp transducer. I did this in the head area because that’s where there was the best vertical clearance. The hull thickness there was 3/8” of solid fiberglass.
There will be a YouTube video about this project, but not for a few weeks.

I'm planning to install a sounder transducer on my Rhodes. The transom mount
that I was thinking about won't clear the rudder so I'm considering an in
hull transducer. I haven't found a source for the hull spec viz. whether the
Rhodes hull is a cored construction. Can anyone answer this?
