Thread a short yank line through the tang.  Tie stopper knots at each end
of the line so you can pull it through to either port or starboard.

Pulling on the yank line makes it easy to pre-position the the car before
unfurling the sail.  Along the bottom of my boom, I have a couple extra
horn cleats that will hold one of the stopper knots to keep the car in
position at different furling points.
