BobI have used the mast system for about 7 years . It works well. My advice would be to have Stan's instructions close by, read them at least twice and follow the instruction carefully. If you do that you will be fine. One of the most important instructions is if the winch gets very tight and hard to crank. stop and see what it is binding up on. Good Luck.

I'm planning to lower my mast this weekend in order to repair my Genoa
furling tube. I have Stan's Hoist system and instructions, but since I have
never attempted this task, I thought I would ask if any of you experienced
mast movers have any advice beyond reading Stan's instructions. Thanks.
