[Rhodes22-list] Polars

Not to get too scientific, especially about a topic I barely understand.  
But when I tried to put a few miles on Michigan I realized I was really
guessing on how far off course I should go in order to get there in time get
there a little faster (reach vs run, I waited a day to avoid the beat).   
What advice does da list have?   Waves are a big factor in our small boat I
believe.
