[Rhodes22-list] Mast raising

Thank you for all the responses. I will correct "block" to " plastic plate".

The original problem was when hoisting the mast and about 2/3 of the way up
the plastic plate came out and the mast fell. When I went to re-screw it
the bolts would not snug up and kept turning. I am concerned that the
plastic plate will come out if I attempt it again without securing it.

I have raised the mast many times over the 5 years I have owned the boat
without any trouble, and did nothing different this time. The boat spends
winters indoors, so I would not think anything would deteriorate.

Should I coat the bolt with 4200 and reinsert in the hole? or fill the hole
with 4200 and reinsert bolt?

The original installation instructions say* " drill 7/32 holes for the
fasteners into the cabin top (which is over an inch thick at this point)
being careful not to drill so deeply you come out into the inside of the
cabin. Put some caulking in these holes. The machine screw fasteners will
self tap into the holes securing the plate to the cabin top" *

Thanks everyone - sorry for using block as in a block of plastic instead of
Plate. Wasn't sure what to call it.
Best Regards
John
