[Rhodes22-list] boom hitting back stays

Thanks Shawn.  The windward shrouds *automatically* tighten to exactly
what is needed to make the boat heel match the mast heel.  You can tell
if a Rhodes shrouds have been tightened by a pro by noticing how the
hull shape has been distorted.

Jessie, two issues:  If you have an early boat you may have a short mast
top fitting.  The other: The boom should be naturally relatively
horizontal when sailing.  If you have an alien sail that raises the aft
end of the boom in order to be able to be attached to the boom, the boom
will not manage the shortening space between mast and back stay (the
hypotenuse of the triangle that the boom, back stays and mast form).

I have a nice recycled Rhodes with new boat guarantee for you, if all
else fails.  Or alternately having a GB Certificate of Support that gets
you into that community of Rhodies wanting their boat to keep being a
"boat in production" would help you.
