There are a number of styles and types to choose from.  The older boats have a recessed post receiver, not do good in the cockpit as it collects water and bugs.   The newer style is a surface mounted option that does not penetrate the floor or deck. Does anyone have a source for better quality table base plates?

If I recall, the majority of those available are a different size/diameter that the posts on our boats.
