[Rhodes22-list] Why do some list messages come from 'Joe Blow via Rhodes22-list'?

Maybe this has been happening for a long time, but I’ve only begun to notice it recently.

For most messages from ‘da list’ that show up in my inbox, the message originator appears as the name of the person who sent the email: ‘Joe Blow’.

For some messages the originator appears as ‘Joe Blow via Rhodes22-list'.

When I reply to one of these ‘via’ messages, both ‘Joe Blow’ and ‘The Rhodes 22 Email List’ are put into the ‘To:’ line.  

Can anyone explain why this is happening?
