Hi Steven
Nice work!  I have plastic inside the aluminum (1984)channel. It’s about 3/8” thick. I don’t see any plastic in your channel. I’m about to replace my channels as well and thinking of using stainless steel instead of aluminum. 
Any thoughts?
Also do you know how your 2 channels are attached to the hull and what kind of backing you have in the laz if any?
