Michael,
On your motor, I see you have a safety chain attached.  Do you lock your motor?  I've got a padlock I use on mine.  If you align the black 'ears' on the motor mount tightening bolts you can get lock on them.  Having had a motor taken off my boat, while it was in the marina, I now make sure mine stays locked.  Just a thought.
