It will be several months before I could post a picture, but what I’ve got is a loop clamp attached to the spreader, a block for 1/4” line attached to the loop clamp, some 3/16” line run through the block (even smaller line would be OK), and a shroud cleat attached to the aft-lower shroud at about chest height to tie the line off to.
Keep in mind that when you’re sailing down wind, the main sail will rub against the spreader and whatever is attached to it. You don’t want to introduce any sharp edges. Don’t ask me how I know.
