[Rhodes22-list] What is the purpose of the ledge outside of the companionway?

Michael,
I usually store both legs (small diameter for the cockpit door table and the larger diameter for the cockpit/cabin table) in the clips on the underside of the table, which is stored in the rack above the V-berths. I have a bungee cord that secures the table and legs in the rack, as it has fallen on to the V-berths during rough seas. No one was in the berth at the time. Now that the kids are grown and on their own, the V-berths are used for storage.
You do know that the table also fills the space in the cabin to form a bed, right?

I’d rather be sailing :~)

Thanks Mike—is there a preferred spot for the table leg?
