[Rhodes22-list] Sunken boat

 I have a Triad trailer and a boat stand that Stan cut for me from a trailer.  I don't have a roller like that on either, the boat is supported only by the two curved/carpeted boards on each side.  Seems like that'd be a lot of weight to put on that roller, especially if while lowering it onto the trailer, they lowered the forward part of the boat onto it first (or dropped it on that roller as Graham suggested), or while raising the boat off the trailer if they lifted the after end first.

What a shame. It looks to me like the boat was dropped. I don't see how misplacing the lifting straps could do such damage.

Every year I paint and launch my boat.  Never had a leak ( other that a thru hull that needed  to be replaced).  This year my wife was ill and required my attention so I brought boat to a boatyard for painting, starting up engine and launching.  After waiting  several weeks they finally told me it was launched.  I got a call a few days later that it had partially sunk. I have no idea what they did but my boat and batteries were submerged and ruined. This is picture of the hull in front of keel with a crack that obviously occurred after they painted it.  They are claiming it was a pre existing condition but I know she was seaworthy last season and I would have noticed this when I power washed bottom. I'm thinking they either bounced it in ground or strapped wrong.  Has anyone else ever had a similar incident?
