The 'pop top slider pin' is a 'spring plunger' - at least that's what McMaster-Carr calls it.  More specifically, what you're looking for is a 'Pull Ring Retractable Spring Plunger'. These are available from McMaster-Carr in 316 stainless in a variety of configurations.  Hopefully, one of them matches what Stan used.

If you're not familiar with the McMaster-Carr website, for much of their inventory if you click on an individual item number, and then in the pop-up window click on the 'Product Detail' link, you will get a page with lots of details, usually including very helpful diagrams.
