Hey Reuben, just saw this email. Damn, sorry to hear about the batteries.
 (12v). Glad the big 48v survived. Did you check to see if it was
discharged?  Those lithium batters can do weird (exothermic) things if
submerge. It had its own special charger if I recall correctly. Was it ok?
Nicks/ my boat has the same battery layout as yours (12v). Also
unfortunately, the Catalina 387 has all the batteries under the cabin sole.
Shudder to think what the amount of Hydrogen and chlorine gas would be
released under similar circumstances. Will be at the boat in Ft. Pierce in
a day or two. Hope to get it in the water and over to the Bahamas in a
month or 6 weeks. We shall see.
