I bought an 8HP Honda - electric Start in 2020.
I love this motor. It starts easily with one pull or with its electric starter.
It has all the power I need- even going to weather against the tide and big breeze.
It is very quiet and smooth and has a 12 Amp Alternator - big plus .
Cons:
It’s heavy - 114 lbs.
The low end of the throttle is not as smooth and easy as I would like - it’s difficult to fine tune the low end rpm’s but this might be solvable.
The motor housing is larger than the Yamaha and Mercury = it looks like a 15 HP.
I wish it had a power tilt as well - (hard to find)
I might consider an electric motor with a removable battery but the honda 8HP is a great choice
