[Rhodes22-list] Replacement Centerboard for 1996 Rhodes 22

I had a centerboard on my 2006 pretty much fall out when I was trailering back to the factory for my boat to be worked on. I had stopped for gas, and coming out of the gas station hit a bump. I stopped at a light and the guy next to me signaled to row down my window. He said, did I know my centerboard was dragging. Ah, no. I pulled off and sure enough the board was dragging on the forward edge. If I had not of stopped, the whole thing would have probably worn away. I tried to stuff the centerboard back up in the slot and the whole thing came out! I don't know if the pivot pin broke and/or if the line broke but the whole centerboard was free. Threw in the back of my tow vehicle and continued on to Stan's where they somehow repaired it. So, yes, it can happen. Don't' think it had anything to do with trailering itself. Who knows.

What in the world caused a centerboard to so completely break? Was there an accident (trailering perhaps)?
Has anyone heard of this happening before?

Peter
