I have had 3 Rhodes 22s since 2003. My 1st was a lake boat with a 4 hp 2
stroke Mariner. I encountered a squall with 4 ft seas & 35 mph winds & the
4hp was quite adequate. I have also had a 5 hp 4 stroke Briggs & Stratton,
a 2 stroke 9.9 hp Yamaha & currently a 4 stroke 9.9 hp Yamaha. The 8 hp is
absolutely fine. I borrowed one when mine needed service & it was fine.
