[Rhodes22-list] Annapolis Gathering next Saturday?

Good evening, fellow Rhodes 22 aficionados!

Back on September 13, I sent the Rhodes 22 list an email (copied again at
the bottom of this one) in response to the conversation about a Rhodes 22
meet-up at the Annapolis Boat Show, as was done after Stan passed away in
honor of his decades of presence there.  I said I would be there (see
below) and asked for anyone who was planning to come to let me know.  Both
before and since, several people have indicated interest in coming on the
email list, but always couched in terms like "if I can make it".  So at
this point, I'm not sure whether anyone else is planning to show up.

If there is even one other, I will gladly be there as planned!  I am eager
to meet fellow Rhodies, present, past and prospective.  But if not, I have
no particular desire to dine alone at the Galway.

So I'm asking you to let me know by 5:00 pm this Friday, October 16  if you
are planning to come to the Galway Saturday evening the 17th.  If someone
does let me know, we're on!  And will welcome any others who wander in
unannounced!  But if no one has let me know by 5 pm Friday, my wife and I
will shift our Saturday plans.

My schedule was narrowing and arrangements had to be made, so I have picked
a time and place to be in Annapolis during the boat show in the hopes that
some of the rest of you will be there at the same time and place!

So, as of now, based on others’ comments, I will take a table at the Galway
Bay Pub at 63 Maryland Ave, Annapolis MD 21401 at 6:30 pm on Saturday,
October 17.  I’ll place an R22 burgee on it and enjoy Rhodes 22 and Stan
Spitzer stories with whoever comes.

It will encourage me (and help me to choose the right size table) if any
who are coming let me know via this email list AND also by text or
voicemail to 336-380-6962.

This is the only evening I can be there, but I certainly won’t be offended
if folks meet on a different day as well.  Also, if some want to come
earlier, I could probably get there by around 5-5:30.  (9:30 pm is my
curfew, though the Galway is open until midnight.)

As a relatively new owner, I am looking forward to meeting others who know
and enjoy this fine boat!
