Thanks Anne, I didn't realize the rudder was loose until I cam in and looked
at it.  We'll see where I go from here.  With Michael's description, I have
a good idea.

Be certain that your rudder is secured up against the aft of the boat.
If your rudder is flailing out in the water, there is significant weather
helm. After you have let the rudder, down you will need to pull up on the
opposite line and secure it. I did not know about this early in my
ownership...
I had NO experience with the Rhodes and learned it all through mistakes!
My arm nearly fell off after my first day in 20+ winds but now is very easy
and no tension on tiller/rudder!
