[Rhodes22-list] Storm jib question

My 1975 Rhodes 22 came with a roller reefing Genoa and a storm jib. The roller unit is the original type were the Genoa sleeve sides over the tube.

The storm jib has a wire luff. The mast has an extra rope jib halyard with a 2-1 purchase. It looks like the Tack of the storm jib hooks up to the fore-deck cleat. (Aft of the head stay) Does anybody have this setup? Will the cleat hold the vertical force of the wire luff?
