Joe,
We have the Nicro solar vent that fits in the cowl vent opening. It's
plastic, we leave it in year round (boat gets covered with a tarp in the
winter) and I don't believe we've ever had water get in up there. It's
still working fine in it's 3rd season. We probably don't get nearly as much
water over the bow as Roger does but we've sat through any number of heavy
downpours and blowing rain..
