Ric, I thought about the transom mount as well.  A
swim platform ladder with a step would be more than
enough to hold the weight.  Obviously the only time it
would be there is while "on the hook" so height would
only be a problem if a boat produced a huge wake or
during inclement weather.  At 54 decibels most
people's stereo would be producing more noise and I
doubt the cabin level would vary one iota.  Brad.
