Yes it's normal and no big deal. Just put a plug in it when you are are =
carrying that much weight. Just make sure you can get the plug out easil=
y if you need to.

We are new owners of a 1986 Rhodes 22. Yesterday we
had 6 adults (160#+)in the cockpit and water starting
coming in the bottom cockpit drain. Moving two to the
coach roof stopped the water from coming in and it
drained back out. Is this normal or is there supposed
to be a plug for the drain when sailing with this many
people?
