Bob,

Dynamic Equilibrium is a 1976 Rhodes 22. The enclosed link is a picture of
the interior companiorway step in Doug Gardner's R-22, "Fretnaught":

Fretnaught is considerably newer than Dynamic Equilibrium. However, the
companionway step looks identical. My boat does not have the built-in
drawer under the step. I only have an empty storage space under the step.
It turns out that an 11 gal Rubbermaid Roughneck tm. storage container fits
in that space almost perfectly & functions like a covered drawer. It works
so well that I've never bothered to build a drawer.

The step is built with teak-faced plywood.

Hopefully, this answers your question, Bob. Unfortunately, I don't happen
to have a good picture of Dynamic Equilibrium's interior shot from that
angle to share with you. But, as I said, the step on Fretnaught looks
identical. If you still have more questions, then ask away & I'll try to
help.
