[Rhodes22-list] new to list/ bilge pump

Hello, I am new to this list, I have been a silent observer for the past few months. My name is Steve, I live in Pompano Beach Florida.  I just purchased a 1982 Rhodes 22 from Brad Haslett in Tenn. I have been working on the boat for the last few wks. adding a Fixed VHF and cable through the mast, and some electrical work. I am installing a bilge pump and have a question, I want to run it to drainthrough the sink outlet tube, but in the FAQ on the link it says to add a check valve.  If someone can give me some more details that would help.Where do I put the check valve, do I use a regular platic Tee to hook the tube to the drain valve tube.  Thank you in advance.  Steve
