[Rhodes22-list] RE: Solar Panels

Marc,

We have a small 5 watt flexible solar panel on Raven
(http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=
10001&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&productId=19354). It's fine for our use most
of the time - we primarily day-sail on an inland lake. Most of the time we
only use the depth and speed instruments, and sometimes the stereo. We've
found it to be insufficient when we travel to the Chesapeake or Maine and
stay on the boat, howeever. Our new LED anchor light should help a bit, but
when we're staying on the boat, I wish we had an alternative charging
system - such as an outboard w/ an alternator or additional solar panels.
