Thanks for the info r.e. your centerboard repair. Do you need help posting

I Just had the cap off my '83 for general inspection and to replace the
pennent. The board had a bit of slop and would thump if the boat rocked. I
took the pin and the bushing from the centerboard. There was a fair amount
of wear in both the pin and
bushing my guess it was original. I had a friend machine anothe pin and
bushing to close tollerences and reinstalled. I also cut 2 4" disks out of
a tough plastic and placed them on either side of the pin (had to grind down
the plastic to get the right
thickness. There is still plenty of room for the board to rise up in a
horizontal position if I ground the keel itself.

I took the boat south to the Sacramento Delta for a few days and all was
quiet. Must say I've never sailed there, some of sloughs and "parcels"
remind me of the southern Chesapeake but other were sureal. I'm just not
sued to broad reaching in 18 knots
of wind on flat water looking DOWN at farm fields and cows 20 feet below
me. Good trip though, just wish I knw how to post some pics on the net to
share.
