What I have said is that 2 strokes were cheaper, lighter, more reliable, and that the additional pollution created in typical
sailboat use was negligible.  I also said it was clear that 4 stroke technology in small outboards was in its infancy, and I would
wait until the technology matured, the prices declined, the cost was lowered, and I had a need for another motor.  All of those
factors seem now to be converging.

 you might want to check out the F8(not the HT, with the 9x7 dual thurst prop)

As you know, all of us Tohatsu owners are happy with our motors.  They have been very reliable.  I am seriously considering getting
the 8 hp 4 stroke because it is the quietest 4 stroke in it's class and I am planning to use my boat in a different way involving
more motoring than I have in the past.  The weight of the Tohatsu is also reasonable--at 81 lbs it's 20 lbs heavier than my 8 hp 2
stroke, and 20 lbs lighter than most of the other 8 hp 4 strokes.

But the noise factor is most important to me.  I already have the remote control unit which I think I can move from the 2 stroke to
the 4 stroke.  Otherwise I'll get another--they are worth the price of admission.
