I have to be allowed some of the fun you guys are having - and where are the
wiser sex?
Keith is right - the democrats, while being closer to the side of the angles
than the opposition, are amazingly inept.
Rik is right - the free market is the best way to solve problems - if we
have a free market. But I do not think any Rhodie participants really
believe our markets are not controlled.
The Days from the great state of Texas are right - spending these huge war
sums on alternate solutions, even by inefficient government bureaucracies,
has to end up more productive then pouring it into bullets and gaskets and
daddy warbucks defense monopolists. I somehow get reminded of the diabetic
who is cured by taking away parts of the body until it is dead instead of
focusing on the prevention of the illness (in this case terrorism). My
father used to quip that the operation was a success but the patient died.
