[Rhodes22-list] Generator

Bill,

Not regularly. I have brought it along a couple times, but haven't 
really used it. I did fire it up one night just to see what it would be 
like. We were alone in a very quiet place and as quiet as those Hondas 
are under normal conditions, it still seemed like a lot of noise in that 
quiet bay. I sure wouldn't figure on using the thing at night.

Once I understood that:

On our Flicka, I am working toward needing less electricity. I have a 
kerosene lantern now for an anchor light. I even found a set of pretty 
cool brass, kerosene nav. lights for the bow. also bought a really 
pretty gimbaled brass kero lamp for the cabin. I still have all the 
electric ones too and I'd like to find LED replacements for at least the 
cabin lights, but I can move around and get by pretty good with almost 
no electricity if I have to or want to. I will be purchasing a couple or 
three 11 watt flexible solar panels to make up what electricity we do 
need. Our 9.9 Yamaha charges the batteries too, when we run it, which 
happily, isn't usually a lot. Even bought a sculling oar so I can slide 
out of a quiet bay in the morning without waking up the whole world.

We're not real big on electronic gadgets, but we do have a radio/tape 
deck and many nights we will listen to books on tape. Also have a little 
DVD player so we can watch a movie if they're handy.

Got a depth sounder  which is on most of the time and a VHF and GPS 
which are off most of the time.
