  Saroj, Rummy,and Others,
I just finished this simple modifacation. I used 3/4" pvc because it rests on the bottom of the turnbuckel nicely without touching the deck.
My jib sail rubs the shrouds about 3-4' above the chainplate. I believe this is because the size of the sail is smaller. I am not sure what size it is. On the home page there a photo of a white r-22 under sail. That is the size I have.
I did cap the tops of pvc. I drilled a 1/8 hole in the top of the cap and then cut the hole out to one side 1/8 of a inch wide. So now on the shrowd I pushed the cap on the wire and then glued the cap and pushed it down on the pvc.
For extra credit I took a small piece of pvc and cut a wedge simular to wedge you could use to tighten the hammer head to a hammer handle, only some bigger. I hammered (gently) the wedge into the slot left in the pvc cap. Now the pvc cap is solid again. When the # 5200 adheasive is dried I will file or sand to almost smooth. This will keep shrowd cable centered and looking soo cool. Barry
